Qorvo® Introduces Next-Generation Matter™ Solution with Industry Leading Energy Efficiency

Qorvo®, a global leader in connectivity and power solutions, has unveiled its latest system-on-chip (SoC) solution designed for smart home devices. Now available for sampling by key customers, this next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) solution incorporates Qorvo’s innovative ConcurrentConnect™ technology, which enables multi-network support for Matter™, Zigbee®, and Bluetooth® Low Energy. The solution offers exceptional energy efficiency, providing a scalable, turnkey option for a wide range of smart home applications.

The QPG6200L is the first product built on Qorvo’s new low-power wireless connectivity platform, specifically designed to meet the demands of today’s fast-evolving smart home landscape. It guarantees seamless communication and interoperability across multiple wireless standards. The QPG6200L supports multiple protocols simultaneously on separate channels, ensuring superior RF performance and reliability for diverse consumer IoT applications such as smart lighting, home sensors, and hubs. It also integrates a secure element and is PSA Certified Level 2, delivering enhanced IoT security.

“The QPG6200L represents a key milestone in Qorvo’s smart home connectivity leadership,” said Marc Pegulu, General Manager of Qorvo’s Connectivity Systems business. “By incorporating our unique ConcurrentConnect technology, this solution not only optimizes device performance across various networks but also facilitates the transition to Matter, ensuring that Zigbee devices are seamlessly integrated into the ecosystem.”

One of the standout features of the QPG6200L is its exceptional energy efficiency, boasting an industry-leading sleep current of under 1 µA, which is 30% lower than competing solutions. This makes it ideal for power-sensitive applications such as battery-powered sensors and energy-harvesting devices, extending battery life and promoting more sustainable smart home solutions.

With the global smart home device market set to grow significantly — IDC forecasts global sales will reach 1.2 billion units by 2028 — the QPG6200L is well-positioned to support the next wave of connected devices. For smart home OEMs, Qorvo offers a complete Matter over Thread solution, simplifying the design process while ensuring robust security and performance across the entire network. The PSA Level 2 certification guarantees that the QPG6200L meets high security standards, protecting against common software vulnerabilities.

Samples and development kits for the QPG6200L SoC are now available, with full production slated for early next year.
